Barry Bullard is a native of Gainesville, a graduate of Oak Hall School and the University of Florida. Growing up in a family involved in building, development and design, Barry decided to pursue what he knew and loved. He graduated with a his degree in Building Construction in 1978. In 1979, Barry founded Barry Bullard Homes and has since built hundreds of homes in many of Gainesville’s finest communities. Barry has earned his reputation as one of Gainesville’s premier builders through his commitment to provide value to his clients. He does so by combining the latest in home design, energy efficiency, uncompromised craftsmanship, and low maintenance exteriors, at a fair price. Our Project Manager, Chas Hafey, has been in the construction business for most of his professional life. After high school Chas served in the Navy in Desert Storm. Upon his return, Chas entered the construction field as a framer. In 2001, he became a construction manager for a nationwide builder, supervising the construction over of 1200 homes in 8 years. In 2009, Chas started his own company building custom residential homes. In 2017, he joined our staff as Project Manager, overseeing all of our projects both residential and commercial.
Our Office Manager, Brianna Sylvester, has had 8 years of administrative experience. Brianna worked for the past 6 years over seeing financial work for a construction company. This is where she found her passion for being involved in the financial world of construction. The beginning of 2022, Brianna joined our staff, and manages a wide range of administrative, financial, and technical tasks in our office..
Our Construction Superintendent, Kai Matthews, has been in the construction industry for over 2 decades. Kai has honed his skills in many different trades, giving him an eye for detail. He worked as a painter for a few years until moving to Hawaii in 2006 and learning carpentry. He worked as a carpenter for the largest nonunion builder on the island of Maui. He quickly became a field supervisor for a fit and finish crew on a multimillion dollar job site. He was responsible for the final finishing and touches on custom homes. After the project ended in 2008, Kai moved to Florida where he joined the Carpenter’s union and obtained experience on commercial projects. He took a job in the multifamily industry managing the remodeling and maintenance of hundreds of rental properties here in Gainesville, Florida. Kai always looks forward to learning new skills and holds many certificates in the construction industry. Including a degree from Santa Fe’s Building Construction program. In 2021, Kai joined Bullard Homes, where he wears many hats and continues to be a vital member of the team..
